Daily inspection, adjustment and replacement of engine fan belt.

1. Engine fan belt inspection

⑴ Visually check whether the engine fan belt is aged, cracked or severely worn (observe the sinking of the fan belt in the pulley groove);

Cracks in the belt can easily cause the belt to break and fly out to damage other parts; if the belt is seriously worn, it will easily slip and reduce the heat dissipation effect.

(2) Check the tension of the fan belt.

Steps: ① Make sure that the engine is in a stopped state, and hang a warning sign to prevent misoperation by others;

②Press the center of the fan belt with your fingers, and visually measure the amount of flexible deformation of the fan belt. Refer to the table below for standard data.

If the pressing deformation is too large, it is considered that the tension of the belt is insufficient. If the belt exhibits little or no press-down, the belt is considered to be under too much tension. When the tension is insufficient, the belt is prone to slippage. Excessive tension can easily damage the bearings of various auxiliary machines.
