Engine fan belt adjustment or replacement method:

1. How to adjust the fan belt

① Loosen the mounting bolts of the alternator

② Loosen the lock nut of the adjuster bolt, and turn the bolt to adjust the tension of the belt to the standard state.

Turn the bolt counterclockwise to release belt tension; turn it clockwise to increase belt tension.

③ After adjusting the tension of the fan belt, tighten the lock nut;

④ Tighten the mounting bolts of the alternator.

2. How to replace the fan belt

① Loosen the mounting bolts of the alternator;

② Loosen the lock nut of the adjuster bolt, and turn the bolt counterclockwise to release the belt tension;

③ Remove the belt from the pulley groove of the alternator pulley, then pass the loose fan belt across one of the fan blades, turn the fan slowly, and pull the belt across all fan blades and remove;

④ Put the new fan belt into the pulley groove according to the reverse steps of taking out the belt;

⑤ According to the fan belt adjustment method, adjust the fan belt tension to the standard state;

⑥ Tighten the lock nut and assembly bolt.

Reminder: After installing the original fan belt of the new heavy truck with multi-ribbed belt, run the engine for more than 5 minutes, then stop the engine and readjust the tension of the fan belt to the standard state.
