1.The differential bearing is a conical thrust bearing, located on the left and right sides of the differential housing, and installed on the bearing hole of the reducer housing. Its function is to bear and transmit the driving force of the differential and reducer, reduce transmission friction resistance, and improve transmission efficiency.

Performance and reliability.

The inner diameter of the bearing and the journal of the differential case, the outer diameter of the bearing and the seat hole of the reducer case are generally interference fit, that is to say, the inner and outer rings of the bearing are not allowed to move with the connecting parts, but the bearing clearance is adjustable. Due to the long-term disrepair of the transmission part of the rear drive axle and the serious lack of lubricating oil, or the long-term use on special roads and poor adjustment during maintenance, the inner diameter of the bearing inner sleeve and the journal of the housing will become loose and worn, and the tapered roller will be ablated. The friction surface of the inner and outer sleeves of the drawer is ablated, resulting in the deviation of the differential axis. When the bearing is seriously damaged, the tapered roller cage can be crushed, the arrangement of the rollers is scattered, and the center positioning of the bearing is abnormal. Damage to the spline part of the shaft and the neck of the half shaft, the basin ring gear (large eight-shaped gear) and the small eight-shaped gear or the outer ring gear and cylindrical driving gear.

The damage of the differential bearing can be divided into bearing wear or ablation, and the reason is mostly improper bearing clearance. If the bearing clearance is too large, it will cause axis deflection, accelerate wear, and affect other components; if the bearing clearance is too small, it will cause bearing wear, friction surface and rolling rod surface ablation, spots, and surface layer peeling off. It can be seen from this that whether the differential bearing is damaged or not depends on the correctness of the bearing clearance allowance, and the repairer or user should fully understand this point.
