The role of the valve oil seal:
1. Valve stem seal is a kind of oil seal, which is generally vulcanized by exoskeleton and fluorine rubber. The diameter of the oil seal is equipped with self-tightening spring or steel wire, which is used to seal the engine valve guide rod;
2. The valve oil seal can prevent the engine oil from entering the intake and exhaust pipes, avoid the loss of engine oil, prevent the mixture of gasoline and air and exhaust gas from leaking, and prevent the engine oil from entering the combustion chamber;
3.The valve oil seal is one of the important parts of the engine valve group. It is in contact with gasoline and engine oil at high temperature. Therefore, it is necessary to use materials with excellent heat resistance and oil resistance, generally made of fluorine rubber.
4.The valve oil seal and the valve guide are connected together and installed on the cover of the car engine. Its function is to prevent the oil from flowing into the internal combustion tank of the engine, causing leakage and penetration of oil loss.
Installation and replacement of valve oil seal:
(1) Disassembly steps of the valve stem oil seal:
①Remove the camshaft and hydraulic lifter, and store them face down. Please note that the lifter is not interchangeable during operation. Use the spark plug wrench 3122B to remove the spark plug, adjust the piston of the corresponding cylinder to the top dead center, and screw the pressure hose VW653/3 into the threaded hole of the spark plug.
② Install the spring compression tool 3362 on the cylinder head with bolts, Adjust the relevant air valve to the correct position, and then connect the pressure hose to the air compressor (air pressure at least 600kPa). Press down on the valve spring with threaded mandrel and thrust piece, and remove the spring.
③Tap the valve spring seat to remove the valve lock block. Use tool 3364 to pull out the valve stem oil seal.
(2) Installation of valve stem oil seal.
Slide the plastic over the valve stem to prevent damage to the new valve stem seal. Apply a light layer of engine oil to the lip of the oil seal. Pack oil onto tool 3365 and slowly push onto valve guide. Special reminder: Before installing the intake and exhaust valves, a layer of engine oil must be applied to the valve stems.
