Heavy truck classification

Since 2005, China will implement a new statistical classification of vehicle types in the automotive industry. This classification is the first important reform of China's automobile industry in the statistical classification of vehicle types. It is also to meet the needs of international integration after China's accession to the WTO, and has a far-reaching impact on the development of the automobile industry in the future.
First, take a look at the relevant information of the old classification. The old classification was formulated in accordance with GB/T3730.1-88 in 1988. It is divided into three categories, namely, trucks, buses and sedans. Each category is classified according to different classification standards, specifically:
The trucks are divided into (by total mass): 1. Heavy trucks (total mass>14 tons); 2. Medium truck (6 tons The new statistical classification of vehicle models is formulated by referring to the two national standards GB/T3730.1-2001 and GB/T15089-2001 and combining the development of China's automobile industry. Its large classification is basically consistent with the international popular appellation, which is divided into two categories: passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Since there is no unified standard for vehicle type segmentation in various countries, the detailed classification of passenger cars and commercial vehicles is based on our own characteristics. The new classification is described as follows:
Compared with the old classification, passenger cars cover cars, minibuses and light buses with no more than 9 seats, while trucks and buses with more than 9 seats are not passenger cars. There is a special case, that is, we consider that some models, such as Jinbei Haishi, have more than 9 seats and less than 9 seats in the same length. In the actual statistics, these vehicles are listed as commercial vehicles, which will not be repeated in the following interpretation of commercial vehicles.
Truck is a commercial vehicle designed and equipped mainly for carrying goods. It can tow a trailer or not.
Similar to the passenger cars of the new classification, the meaning of the freight cars of the new classification is also less than that of the trucks of the old classification, and the corresponding relationship is that the trucks of the old classification=those of the new classification (freight cars+semi-trailer tractors+incomplete freight cars).

Semi trailer tractor is a commercial vehicle equipped with special devices for towing semi trailers.
After China's entry into WTO, the port traffic volume is increasing day by day, which provides an opportunity for the development of semi-trailer tractor. In recent years, this model has developed rapidly. In the old classification, semi-trailer tractors were included in the statistics of trucks and were not listed separately, while the new classification was listed separately as a major category of commercial vehicles.
For semi-trailer tractors, the vehicle classification is based on the mass of the semi-trailer tractor in running state, plus the maximum vertical static load transmitted by the semi-trailer to the tractor, and the maximum design loading mass of the tractor itself (if any).
