The oil cooler is a device that accelerates the heat dissipation of the lubricating oil to keep it at a lower temperature. On high-performance, high-power enhanced engines, due to the large heat load, an oil cooler must be installed. The oil cooler is arranged in the lubricating oil circuit, and its working principle is the same as that of the radiator.
Classification:
Engine oil cooler: Cool the lubricating oil of the engine, keep the temperature of the engine oil at a reasonable temperature (90-120 degrees), and the viscosity at a reasonable level; the installation position is on the cylinder block of the engine, and it is installed integrally with the housing during installation.
Transmission oil cooler: to cool the lubricating oil of the transmission, it is installed in the lower water chamber of the engine radiator or outside the transmission case, and if it is air-cooled, it is installed on the front side of the radiator.
Retarder oil cooler: cooling the lubricating oil when the retarder is working, installed outside the gearbox

The material of the oil cooler core requires strong corrosion resistance and heat dissipation. There are generally two types, one is copper and the other is stainless steel. Of course, copper is the first choice for strong heat dissipation and heat resistance. Corrosion, stainless steel is second, the heat dissipation of stainless steel is not as good as copper material, but the corrosion resistance is stronger than copper material.
