Is there any possibility of oil leakage from the flywheel housing of the truck

Dec 23, 2022

Generally, the flywheel housing of freight cars will not leak oil. Because the rubber seal ring inside the gearbox is subject to the alternation of cold and warm temperatures for a long time, the seal ring loses a lot of plasticizer and softener and leaks oil. In this way, the problem of corrosion, aging and hardening will occur. At first, the problem is oil leakage, and then oil dripping will gradually occur. After a long time, the seal ring will break. It is also possible that the clearance between the bearing and the bearing bush is too large, or the oil leakage is caused by the broken oil deflector.
The crankshaft packing is sealed by two half rings of oil seals. The engine can be almost broken up without leakage. You can only replace half of the oil seals now. It is almost inevitable that minor leaks can not be repaired if they are not serious. If they are serious, they can only be repaired and replaced with four matching parts in advance. Lift the crankshaft and replace the oil seal on the engine block.
Check the specific parts of oil leakage first
Generally, the oil leakage is caused by the rear oil seal of the crankshaft in the large flywheel or the front oil seal of the gearbox. It is recommended that you check. Generally, the oil leakage is caused by the rear oil seal of the crankshaft. The oil seal is broken, and the crankcase ventilation valve is blocked, causing high crankcase pressure. The installation is not good, and the quality of the oil seal and the corresponding position of the shaft are worn. Check if there is any problem with the sealing lip of your oil seal. There is also a spring.
